Stop it with the makeoverings!

Today's comic is inspired by something that happened while I was out Christmas shopping with David the Blog-Jacker.  We were in the St. George's Shopping Centre headed towards The Pier which was having one of those crazy 50% off sales (probably connected to the Woolworths situation) and had to walk past one of those small business stalls to get there.

Unfortunately, this stall had something to do with luxury mineral facial treatments or something like that, and the lady at the stall aimed hopefully at me while I tried to hide behind Dave, "Excuse me, can I ask you a question?"

And Dave was like, "No..." in that classically grumpy way I find hilarious, and I was like, "Um... No?  Not really?" then ran red-faced into Pier.  When we got in there I was like, "I don't want to buy your face products!  DON'T MAKE ME BEAUTIFUL!"  And Dave found that to be hilarious too.

Ever wonder where I get my ideas?  Random stuff like this, readers...

Lovey Duvet

The loveliness of my 13.5 tog, 16 year old (or more), duvet is one of the many reasons I stay in bed several more hours per day than I probably should.  Oh wells...  This post is in honour of two great bed accessories: the duvet and duvet cover.  We salute you!

Rant 1: CarylCake Confuses a Feminist

This is part in a series of rant-noodles I've decided to make. Today I had a conversation that simmered my blood somewhat, and reminded me of many other occasions where women had said similar things to me. I could go into details, but the bottom line is, people don't seem to like that I'm not a driven career-woman type; I'm a housewife.

Call me backward, tell me I'm subscribing to the oppression of women that Pankhurst and Greer and Thatcher worked so hard to fight against, but stuff you, I'm gonna become the best darn housewife the 21st century has ever seen, and have a great time doing it.
When I get a job (and hopefully before the end of January) it will be for the money and the opportunity to help others, not to try and claw my way to the top and do plenty of man-bashing on the way. Human beings are human beings, regardless of sex, race, religion etc.

However, that doesn't mean human beings aren't all different with different traits. Of course I want to be treated differently from a man! Men get a raw deal these days, they just kinda mope around without purpose while getting an earful from women that they're not 'man' enough. What is 'man' now? We've spent the past three decades trying to reinstate the purpose of woman, got it completely wrong, then messed up men in the process.

So, take that, feminism. You've done about as much harm as you have good, to both men and women, and I'm not standing for it. All I aim to do in this life is treat humans as humans, and ignore anyone that tells me I should be aiming to do anything different.

Thank you.

A Christmas Card to You!

Take that, Apple, I don't need your expensive, superior quality products to enjoy all that music I bought from you!  Thank you to the wonderful fiance and fellow blog contributor, David the Blog- Jacker who gave me this lovely gift.

Merry Christmas to you, my lovely readers.  If you've just stumbled across my little blog, please comment, link, click, add, follow, or otherwise show your appreciation to me, your humble noodlie doodler!

Love you, darlings!

This young gentleman just witnessed the untimely death of frequent updates

My life is currently beating me about the backside with a cat-o'-nine-tails. As a result, my updates are frustratingly few and far between. I think an escape plan is in order...

Totally made 4th place on Google image search! How awesome is that??

New Banner

I write this from my sickbed, listening to heavy Preston rain coming horizontally at my window.

In celebration of me managing to keep a blog in one sense or another for nearly a year, I'm treating it to a new banner and colour scheme. Do let me know what you think.

The 3rd November will be Pasta Disaster's first birthday - three weeks away! I have a little treat in store for then, but I've only just thought of it, so let's hope it'll be ready on time...

Here's to lack of blogging commitment!

Seeping into your subconscious like a wintery latte

Every year since I was 17 I've had Seasonal Affective Disorder. This PD is an expression of such.

This is a new(ish) book my lovely friend got me from Amazon. When I visited Japan I absolutely adored bento boxes because they were just what you needed after walking several miles around Kaihin-Makuhari!

Consider buying it, it's gorgeous.

And he misses me.

Since my move 5 months ago to a new Vista laptop, I've yet to get hold of the proper drivers for the lovely Wacom tablet that is currently in my possession. Just to clear up, it isn't actually mine, but belongs to fellow blogger David. Hopefully I will be able to pull a couple of geeky moves and get hold of the appropriate drivers.

Here's to restarting blogs at random interval! *raises glass*
